The Insights discipline helps empower Rioters' decision-making to be more data-informed. As the Senior Research Manager on the Teamfight Tactics team, you will be leading and growing the researchers on the Insights team that informs and advises the design, development, and execution of products and experiences for Teamfight Tactics. The Insights team supports products through their entire lifecycle: from opportunity identification, through product development to post launch performance. This role emphasises a researcher skillset as you will function as the craft lead for that discipline.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on cross disciplinary projects to generate insights that inform gameplay content, cosmetic content, and metagame systems
  • Leverage advance problem solving and data synthesis skills to form a deep understanding of the product, and partner with senior stakeholders to shape long term game development strategy
  • Be accountable for the delivery of Insights research on the team
  • Drive initiatives that maintain research excellence and strategic thinking on the team, including providing peer review and feedback, evaluating new tools and contributing to long-term staffing plans
  • Provide career guidance and mentorship, working direct reports to establish a roadmap of growth opportunities that build into a satisfying career
  • Establish working relationships with other Data and Insights teams across the organisation

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience with user research, market research or a related field of behavioural analysis; graduate degrees in related fields count towards experience (psychology, human-computer interaction, human factors, marketing, or communications)
  • 2+ years of professional industry experience in gaming, entertainment, or consumer products
  • 2+ years of experience managing individuals and teams
  • Proficiency with large user research tools such as Qualtrics, QuestionPro, or Sawtooth

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working on a live service game with a free-to-play model
  • Existing familiarity with Teamfight Tactics

  • (Los Angeles Only) Base salary range between $178,800.00 - $249,200.00 USD + incentive compensation + equity + 401K with company match + medical, dental, vision, and life insurance + short and long-term disability + open PTO.
