The role of Application Engineer III (Information Architect) at Riot brings deep knowledge of enterprise platforms, integrations, and analytics to problems that require synthesizing data within and across enterprise data domains like finance, human resources, and legal and enterprise technology. They care about our players, and are driven to help Rioters make working at a global organization more streamlined to deliver on our mission.
As an Application Engineer III (Information Architect), you will be collaborating with business users, data SMEs, and platform owners from design to implementation of enterprise applications and analytics capabilities that leverage critical enterprise information for core planning, decision making, and business processes. The ideal candidate brings the experience needed to elevate the technical maturity of how Riot works through foundational problems in process, data, and technology management.
Responsibilities:
- Work with business SMEs (such as Finance, HR, Legal, Operations) to design the conceptual and logical data models, in addition to their links to business capabilities and business processes.
- Assist SMEs in the selection/design/implementation of business applications, data architecture, and supporting processes.
- Designs the reporting and analytics frameworks and works with developers & data analysts in their development
- Collaborate with data and platform SMEs to ensure the data architecture design supports the enterprise information architecture.
- Work with data and technical SMEs to design the data integration framework and processes.
- Collaborate with other technical leads to improve enterprise architecture, data architecture, and lead projects that incrementally deliver on target architectures.
- Assist with design and implementation of integrations between essential enterprise application platforms (FP&A, ERP, Middleware, Project Planning software, HRIS, etc).
- Collaborate cross-departmentally with business operations, IT systems, data management, and analytics teams to integrate data, optimize technical and business processes, and consult on best practices in data management, reporting, etc.
- Help to coach, and mentor non-technical professionals who are involved in data activities but who may not be formally trained in data or systems management.
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years experience technically leading and/or implementing end-to-end integrations architectures & data management activities, from foundational activities like data governance, data quality, and metadata management, to value-deliverables like master data management, data warehousing & BI, data science and analytics, and data driven applications.
- 7+ years experience translating business requirements into conceptual, logical to physical data models
- 5+ years experience working with data and integrations from financial and/or HR systems used in planning, forecasting, and reporting, and analytics processes, such as: Oracle EBS, Workday, OneStream, Coupa, Concur, ADP, etc
- 5+ years experience with data integration, including ETL methodologies, CDC, batch and continuous processing between source systems and data buses and/or data warehouses
- 5+ years integrating data across data integration systems, big data & analytics systems, master data management systems, RDBMS systems, with familiarity in: Event buses & integration middleware, Workato, SNOW Integration Hub, Databricks & Spark, AWS Data technologies, Airflow, Delta Lake, DBT, etc
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience leading large MDM initiatives and process reengineering related to data
- Experience with Enterprise Architecture frameworks (TOGAF, etc)
- Experience implementing business intelligence reports and tools such as Tableau, Looker, PowerBI
- Experience implementing data processes in an enterprise event bus
- Experience with logical data warehouse, data virtualization and data federation patterns
- Working knowledge of data platform infrastructure and operations, data operations, business intelligence, data science.

- (Los Angeles Only) Base salary range between $153,800.00 - $216,200.00 USD + incentive compensation + equity + 401K with company match + medical, dental, vision, and life insurance + short and long-term disability + open PTO.
